Beuth University of Technology

With a conclusive concept agn came out first in the award procedure. In early 2017, agn was awarded the general planning contract for the first large-scale BIM project of the Berlin senate - the post-closure utilization of airport building A at Berlin Tegel airport. Once flight operations at Tegel airport have ceased the senate will develop the 460 acre-large airport site into a research and industrial park for urban technology, the so-called “Urban Tech Republic“. There is a high demand for free-space laboratories to be used for specialist areas such as renewable energies, e-mobility and urban horticulture research.
The Beuth University of Technology is the largest occupant of the terminal and plans to locate certain study areas of the university at the site. The Terminal A airport building requires considerable refurbishment for this purpose.
